The Dainty Dirty Handbag

I was reading the newspaper the other day and ran across an article about purses and handbags. Now before I tell you too much about the article, let me ask you a couple of questions. First question, when you come in your home from outside, where do you put your handbag? Second question, when you go to a public restroom where do you put your purse?
Here's the reason for all the questions. The article was about dirty bags, and how we women are carrying around a lot of dirty bags, and it's even more gross if you have children. No disrespect to Moms, but let's face, do we have any idea of the dirt, grime and other stuff that's taken up residence on the base of our purses? There's a national lab that checked out the bottom of handbags and uncovered all kinds of yucky stuff.
So, what do you think I did today? Not only did I put my bag in a plastic bag when I got home, but I placed it on the floor, not the passenger seat, in the car. And in the office, it's new home will be on the hook of the door. A friend of mine says I'm going overboard for a 10-year old purse that's probably already infested with nasty stuff. My response is, we'll just see about that, as soon as I finish sewing my hazard suit to wear while carrying my bag. Just kidding! Tell me about your dirty bag. Ever find chewing gum on the bottom of your bag? What else?
